Suomen Welsh Corgi Seura Ry
There has never been a time in my life in which dogs have not been involved.
I grew up in the South, and, as was true in most Southern households, the
hobbies of the men were hunting and fishing. My father always had English
setters and pointers over which we hunted quail and dove and, on occasion
pheasant, in the mountains of North Carolina. My personal pet, as a child
was a cocker spaniel.
My husband, Rut, and I bought a dachshund on our honeymoon.
When our children were young, we added a standard poodle and then a St.
Bernard. One year, as a Christmas gift, Rut presented me with a Pembroke
puppy. The entire family fell in love with her, and we eventually began to
breed and show them, a hobby that involved not only Rut and me, but also our
three children.
I have enjoyed judging both Pems and Cardis for over twenty years, both at
home and overseas. Last Fall I had the pleasure of doing the Irish
specialty. I very much look forward to visiting in Finland and judging your
corgis and appreciate your invitation to do so.
